Job summary

Cox Automotive USA is offering Software Development Intern opportunities within Group Business Operations. The role emphasizes hands‑on experience across enterprise platforms, deployment pipelines, security and monitoring.

Interns will develop tools to automate tasks and maintain infrastructure on public and private clouds, with mentorship and exposure to senior leaders. Remote work is not available; travel is up to 5% and internships may precede full‑time roles upon graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BA/BS in computer science or related field with coursework in software development, systems, networking and security.
• Passion for technology, reverse engineering and coding to create solutions.
• Collaborative attitude with clear communication in one‑on‑one and group settings.
• Experience with Windows and Linux, containers and databases.
• Experience with source code, build, deploy, orchestration and configuration management tools.
• Experience writing code and scripts in at least one high‑level language.
• Familiarity with public cloud architecture, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with Agile concepts (Scrum/Kanban).
• Interest in building secure, scalable applications and measuring performance.

Responsibilities

• Developing automation for infrastructure provisioning and procedures across environments.
• Documenting new development, procedures or test plans as needed.
• Following security and engineering standards and best practices.
• Building tools and pipelines to enable continuous integration and delivery.
• Automating packaging, deployment and configuration management across environments.
• Gathering feedback to improve software engineering throughput and quality.
• Monitoring system and service performance and escalating issues as needed.
• Leveraging AI tools to assist in productivity, testing and automation.
