Job summary

Mesirow, a Chicago-based independent financial services firm, is seeking a Cloud and Automation Engineer to design, build, and operate hybrid infrastructure across Azure and on-premises environments. You will automate provisioning and configuration, partnering with cross-functional squads to translate requirements into secure, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in automating infrastructure in public cloud (Azure preferred) and on-prem environments.
• Experience solving cross-layer problems across multiple tech stacks.
• Experience working in cross-functional squads with engineers, architects, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate infrastructure across Azure and on-premises hyperconverged environments.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and tasks using infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Partner with cross-functional squads to translate requirements into secure, maintainable infrastructure designs.
• Co-design systems with developers, favoring immutable infrastructure patterns.
• Evolve hybrid cloud strategy, deciding what belongs in private data center vs. Azure.
