Job summary

The Children’s Home of Reading invites qualified clinicians to join our team across Bethlehem and Doylestown locations. This full-time role provides weekly individual counseling to assigned UACs, facilitates group sessions, conducts mental health assessments, screens for trauma, and delivers crisis support as needed.

You will document services in our confidential health system and collaborate with the Lead Clinician.

Qualifications

• Requires Master’s or doctorate in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or related behavioral field.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania; non-licensed must pursue licensure within 3 years.
• Demonstrates integrity and good moral character suitable for work with children in residential/foster care.

Responsibilities

• Provides weekly individual counseling to assigned UACs.
• Facilitates group counseling sessions twice weekly.
• Conducts mental health assessments for new and ongoing UACs.
• Screens for trauma history and indicators of human trafficking.
• Delivers crisis support and coordinates emergency behavioral health response as needed.
• Documents clinical services in the UAC Portal and health record system.
• Delivers on-site child-facing clinical services at assigned program location.
• Participates in clinical case review meetings and consults with Lead Clinician.
• Completes ORR-required pre-service training and stays compliant with policies.
• Exhibits independent judgment per program policy and applicable law.
• Communicates effectively with children, families, and staff.
• Maintains regular attendance and responds to needs, including outside hours.

What You’ll Do

• Provides weekly individual counseling to assigned UACs.
• Facilitates group counseling sessions twice weekly.
• Conducts mental health assessments for newly admitted and ongoing UACs.
• Screen for trauma history and indicators of human trafficking.
• Delivers crisis support services and coordinates emergency behavioral health response as needed.
• Documents clinical services in the UAC Portal and confidential health record system.
• Provides child-facing clinical services on-site at the assigned program location.
• Participates in clinical case review meetings and consultation with the Lead Clinician.
• Completes required training on evidence-based practices in mental and behavioral health care delivery.
• Exercise independent judgment consistent with program policy, ORR requirements, and applicable law.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with children, families, and staff.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance and respond promptly to program needs, including outside standard business hours when required by the role.

Qualifications

Required:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Master’s or doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or other behavioral discipline requiring clinical experience is a program requirement.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania
• Non-licensed staff must be actively working toward licensure and attain licensure within 3 years of the employment date.
• Must exhibit integrity and good moral character appropriate for working with children in a residential or foster care setting.
• Must successfully complete ORR-required background investigations.
• Must provide proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route (Varicella, MMR, Tdap, annual Influenza) and comply with all state licensing health screening requirements including TB screening.
• Must complete all ORR-required pre-service training, as required and scheduled by ORR.
• Must sign and comply with CHOR’s Code of Conduct consistent with ORR policy, confidentiality acknowledgement, and mandatory reporter agreement.
• Must disclose any prior misconduct, including conduct occurring off duty, on employment applications and in interviews. Material omissions are grounds for termination.

Schedule

• This position is based across two work locations, Bethlehem and Doylestown. The employee will be required to report to and work from both offices as necessary and assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit at a meeting table or desk, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach, stoop, twist, climb steps, drive a vehicle, and assist individuals as needed.
