Job summary

The Children’s Home of Reading is seeking a Master Level Clinician in Reading, PA to provide high-quality therapeutic services to assigned clients and families. The role involves assessments, individual, family and group therapy, and developing treatment plans, with a focus on crisis management and collaboration with caregivers and community agencies.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited university in a clinical health discipline.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • At least three written references that demonstrate past educational and/or employment experience.
  • Two years of verifiable experience in the mental health field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts in-person assessments and provides individual, family and group therapy.
  • Develops treatment plans and implements interventions with clients.
  • Manages crisis situations and de-escalates conflicts.
  • Maintains accurate written and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Acts as liaison between program and family/community agencies.
  • Serves as client advocate and promotes a culture of compassion.
  • Maintains clients’ rights and confidentiality.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and supports agency mission.

What You’ll Do

As a Master Level Clinician, you will provide quality therapeutic services to assigned clients and/or families.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts in-person assessments, provides individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and offers essential behavioral management services.
  • Utilizes theoretical knowledge to develop treatment plans and implement interventions in real-time with clients.
  • Understands crisis situations and triggers. Assists in managing challenging behaviors and de-escalating conflicts.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date written and electronic health records (EHR) in accordance with program policies and professional standards of care.
  • Acts as the liaison between the program and family/community agencies including individuals such as Parents/Caregivers, Case Managers, County Social Workers, Teachers/Education Providers, and Probation Officers. The Clinician shall work with the family or care providers in the implementation of treatment plans and will maintain contacts with all important individuals in the client’s life.
  • Serves as client advocate.
  • Promotes a culture of compassion.
  • Maintain clients’ rights and confidentiality.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
  • Demonstrates professionalism (Commitment to: Social Learning, Social Responsibility, Non-Violence, Growth and Change)
  • Supports and adheres to agency’s mission, goals, and objectives.

Physical Requirements
  • The employee is required to stand, walk, run, use hands and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must have the physical ability to restrain a resident while utilizing the tenets of Safe Crisis Management training.
  • The employee is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, see, taste, and smell.
