Job summary

HeartShare seeks a Clinician for the Children’s Outpatient Mental Health Program in New York. The role provides trauma-informed therapy to children, adolescents, and families, with collaboration across schools and external partners. The clinician will maintain OMH-compliant documentation and work a 12 PM–8 PM schedule.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Social Work and NYS licensure (LMSW/LCSW) with at least two years of relevant experience. Bilingual Spanish-English is required.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree required.
  • Licensed in New York State as an LMSW or LCSW.
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing mental health services to clients and families.
  • Bilingual (Spanish - English).
  • Strong clinical skills and trauma-informed care.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records and meeting documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Meet monthly productivity goals and complete notes.
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents.
  • Develop, implement, and update treatment plans aligned with OMH regulations.
  • Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR.
  • Engage parents and caregivers through regular communication and psychoeducation.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, supervision, team meetings, and trainings.
  • Coordinate care with school staff, external providers, case managers, and referral sources.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Support interns and junior staff under supervision guidelines.

Job description

  • Bilingual (Spanish - English).

The Clinician in the Children’s Outpatient Mental Health Program is responsible for providing high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive therapeutic services to clients and their families. The clinician will deliver individual, group, and family therapy within a clinical setting, maintain all required documentation in compliance with OMH and agency standards, and collaborate with internal teams, schools, and external partners to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes. This role follows a 12PM - 8PM schedule.

Essential Functions And Primary Responsibilities Of Position
  • Clinicians are responsible for meeting monthly productivity goals and completing their notes.
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents.
  • Develop, implement, and update treatment plans based on client needs and in alignment with OMH regulations.
  • Provide ongoing individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of clinical services in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Engage parents and caregivers in the treatment process through regular communication and psychoeducation.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, supervision, team meetings, and professional development trainings.
  • Coordinate care with school staff, external providers, case managers, and referral sources.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Support interns and junior staff as needed under supervision guidelines.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope, responsibilities, and level of the position, and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
