Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Clinical Instructors interested in teaching students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

We are currently accepting applications from candidates interested in teaching in the following specialties:

  • Fundamental Nursing Skills - Focuses on health promotion and rehabilitative patient care. Students provide direct patient care, applying nursing skills and concepts, utilizing the nursing process.
  • Complex Adult Health - Focuses on adult patients with critical illnesses. Students integrate nursing, technological, and scientific knowledge with clinical judgment to promote health across diverse populations.
  • Capstone Final Clinical - Facilitates students' transition into professional nursing through experiential learning, focusing on skills refinement and legal, ethical, and evidence-based practice.
  • Mental-Health Nursing - Emphasizes mental health issues, therapeutic communication, and community resources.
  • Pediatric Nursing - Mentors students in clinical settings, focusing on family-centered care from infancy through adolescence.
  • Adult Health (Medical-Surgical) Nursing - Addresses health promotion and management of acute and chronic conditions in adults.
  • Maternal-Child Nursing - Focuses on family-centered maternal and newborn care, including high-risk and women’s health issues.
  • Community Health Nursing - Covers community/public health, prevention, and sociocultural aspects of health.
  • Collaborative Health (Leadership) - Expands nursing practice scope, focusing on leadership and management.

Role Responsibilities
  • Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
  • Plan clinical experiences, supervise, and evaluate nursing students providing care.
  • Provide feedback on student performance, offer remediation as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of agency/clinical policies and develop clinical assignments tailored to students’ needs.
  • Grade assignments and coursework promptly.
  • Possibly teach didactic content under supervision.
  • Communicate student and agency issues to the course coordinator and dean.
Qualifications

You are encouraged to explore this opportunity if you have:

  • A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • An unencumbered professional nursing license.
  • At least two years of recent professional experience as a registered nurse in an instructional role.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required at some sites.
  • Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
  • Excellent communication skills and subject matter expertise.
  • A desire to serve students and colleagues with respect and care.
  • A sense of responsibility and purpose to enrich the community.
Additional Information

Position Compensation: The expected rate is between $1,120 and $7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience. Actual pay may vary based on factors such as course type, experience, location, and responsibilities. Our Talent Acquisition Team can answer questions about salary requirements.
