Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:The Master of Science (M.S.) in Instructional Technology and Design is a fully online program offered for those who want to work as instructional technology professionals in K-12, and/or as instructional designers and training specialists in a wide array of environments including higher education, non-profit, government, corporate, and military settings. Students in this program gain hands-on experience in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of a broad range of educational media and technology for innovative teaching, training, and development.
Position Summary:The Department of Information, Library, & Research Sciences invites applications and nominations for a Clinical Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will serve in the Masters of Instructional Technology and Design, which is a fully online program. This position is a non-tenure 9-month appointment with a two-year renewable contract. Summer teaching opportunities are also available. Clinical faculty members have assigned responsibilities in teaching and service. The position will be effective August 1, 2025 and salary is commensurate with qualifications with a salary range of 62,000 to $67,000.
This position will join one existing MSITD faculty member serving as primary instructors for core and concentration classes. In addition, this job will involve engaging in outreach to build relationships with the community and recruit new students. The successful candidate will also serve as an academic advisor to a portion of graduate students. There are additional teaching opportunities in the ALA accredited Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) and Educational Research, Methodology (ERM) programs.
