Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Clinical Informatics professional in Pflugerville, TX to optimize Athenahealth EMR and streamline clinical workflows. You will lead adoption efforts across clinic sites, guiding teams through change management and delivering targeted training for upgrades and new features.

The role requires a health informatics, nursing, or related degree and 3+ years in EMR optimization with demonstrated leadership in clinical technology implementations, located at Stonehill Town Center

• Minimum of three years of Athenahealth EMR optimization and clinical workflow consulting experience.
• Proven healthcare leadership experience guiding cross-functional teams through clinical technology adoptions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze practice patterns and drive clinical workflow innovation in Athenahealth to maximize EMR performance and elevate patient care outcomes.
• Lead physician and staff adoption by guiding clinic sites through structured change management to transition to streamlined digital workflows.
• Orchestrate targeted clinical training for upgrades, new features and onboarded associates to ensure optimal utilization of healthcare technology.
• Partner with physician leadership to bridge technical systems with day-to-day clinical reality, tailoring system optimizations to active practice needs.
• Serve as a trusted clinical IT advisor to practice users, resolving information gaps and improving the overall provider experience.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• EMR Optimization Mastery: Proven experience in clinical workflow mapping and the advanced implementation or optimization of large-scale EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or Athena).
• Change Management Expertise: A track record of successfully leading clinical teams through technical transitions, with the ability to influence physician adoption and behavior change.
