Job summary

Sibley Memorial Hospital, part of Johns Hopkins Health System, is seeking a Clinical Technician I to work in the Endoscopy Suite. Under RN supervision, you will observe patients, provide basic nursing support, and help maintain a safe, compassionate, cost-effective environment.

Minimum qualifications include a DC CNA certification, HS diploma/GED, and AHA BLS CPR. The role involves day shifts with some weekend work and a 12-hour per week schedule, with competitive pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Periodically checks patients, monitors vital signs, and observes patient care equipment.
• Provides personal care including hygiene and comfort measures.
• Performs bedside glucose monitoring and EKG tracing.
• Measures intake/output and manages Foley catheter care.

The Clinical Technician I (Clin Tech I) maintains a collaborative relationship with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Under the direction of an RN, a Clin Tech I works as an associate with training in specific clinical skills/competencies on the healthcare team. Observes patients, provides skilled nursing care, and maintains the patient environment in an outcome oriented, safe, therapeutic, compassionate, and cost-effective manner. Duties and responsibilities are based on what serves the patients and the team at any given time and are determined in collaboration with the team leader.

• Periodically checks patients, takes vital signs, and observes condition of the patient and patient care equipment or devices.
• Provides personal care for patient including hygiene and physical comfort measures
• Performs bedside glucose monitoring, EKG tracing
• Measures and records intake and output
• Inserts and removes Foley catheters

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED
• Current certification as CNA in the District of Columbia
• American Heart Association BLS CPR required

Salary Range: Minimum $26.00/hour - Maximum $26.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
