Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.
• Listed as Nursing Assistant I and Licensed as Nursing Assistant II in NC.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to rn or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, research information, review and revise orders, answer calls, transcribe orders and maintain medical records.
• Provide clinical support: clean work areas, troubleshoot equipment, transport patients/supplies/specimens, assist in orientation of new staff and students.
• Provide direct patient care per care plan: measure vital signs, assist with ADLs, monitor IVs and suctioning, document education to patients.
