Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill is seeking a Clinical Support Technician I (Nursing Assistant I + Clerical) for the GI Surgery Acute Care Unit. The 6 Memorial unit provides care to post-surgical GI patients, with rotating day and night shifts and weekend/holiday coverage.

This is a full-time 36-hour/week role with a comprehensive benefits package. Your responsibilities include assisting providers, handling clerical tasks, patient transport, and direct patient care per the care plan, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant I certification per NC DHHS.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment.
• Review patient care documentation and report changes to a nurse or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, transcribe orders, maintain medical records.
• Provide clinical support: clean area, troubleshoot equipment, restock supplies, transport patients.
• Provide direct personal patient care per plan of care (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation) and measure vital signs.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials.
