Clinical Support Specialist (Remote, U.S. - Contractor Role)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Location: Remote (must be based in the U.S.)

Hours: Full-time (25-40 hours per week)

Compensation: $18-22

About the Role

We’re hiring a Clinical Support Specialist to help keep our clients’ practices running smoothly. You’ll work directly with our provider clients and their patients, handling a variety of admin and billing-related tasks that make a big difference in the day-to-day flow of a clinic.

You don’t need to have years of healthcare experience (though it’s a plus). What you do need is strong communication skills, great attention to detail, and a love for organizing and problem-solving.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing client communication channels (think phone, fax, email, and portals)
  • Scheduling appointments and onboarding new patients
  • Collecting insurance and demographic information
  • Assisting with billing tasks (copays, authorizations, insurance verification, and follow-ups)
  • Processing referrals and records requests
  • Communicating with patients in a kind, professional, HIPAA-compliant way
  • Collaborating with other members of the Skinner Solutions team to keep everything on track

  • A strong communicator who can keep things kind, clear, and professional
  • Super organized, responsive, and ability to multi-task
  • Familiar with healthcare lingo (or willing to learn fast)
  • Not afraid of tech or digital tools - bonus points if you’ve used EMRs like Simple Practice or IntakeQ
  • Passionate about making life easier for clinicians and helping mental health providers thrive
  • Totally on board with being a proactive, thoughtful member of a small but mighty team
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your time like a boss
  • Based in the U.S. with legal authorization to work as a 1099 contractor
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Dependable, deadline-oriented, and highly responsive
  • Computer literate with comfort using digital tools and systems
  • Prior customer service experience (healthcare setting preferred but not required)
  • HIPAA compliance mindset
