Job summary

Axess Family Services, Inc. in Kent, Ohio is seeking a Clinical Support Staff (Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse) to join our team as a float, full-time at 40 hours per week. The position offers an hourly wage between $20 and $30.

You will assist providers, document patient histories, take vitals, administer medications, and support patient education while adhering to OSHA and compliance standards. A valid Ohio LPN license or MA certification and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program, or MA certification.
• Unrestricted LPN license in Ohio or MA certification.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• 2–5 years of community health experience preferred.
• Computer competency (word processing, email, internet).
• Experience with electronic health records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-visit planning at least one day before each appointment.
• Assist providers with patient visits, rooming, history, and vital signs.
• Prepare, administer, and document medications/procedures.
• Provide counseling and health education to patients.
• Follow OSHA regulations for hazardous materials.
• Prepare exam rooms and restock supplies.
• Document nursing care using the electronic health record.
