Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant for the Bone Marrow Transplant department. You will provide administrative support across multiple clinicians, obtain insurance authorizations, and coordinate referrals and consultations.

The role requires an associate degree and at least 1 year in a medical office setting, with strong communication, organization, and computer skills. This is a full-time, day-shift position located on-site at the hospital.

Qualificações

Responsabilidades

  • Obtain insurance authorizations for procedures and imaging.
  • Assist physicians and other staff in scheduling consultations.
  • Become proficient with Cerner power chart, Eclipsys, Patient Keeper, Excel, etc.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Provide administrative support for assigned physicians and staff.
  • Answer calls and distribute messages promptly.
  • Adhere to HIPAA standards of patient confidentiality.

Clinical Support Assistant - Bone Marrow Transplant
Position Summary

At Stony Brook Medicine, a TH Staff Assistant is a valuable member of our team, who provides administrative and executive support and has the ability to interface with all levels of management throughout the hospital. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organization skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence.

Duties
  • Obtaining insurance authorizations for office procedures and imaging testing (MRI,PET/CT CT scans etc.) and other special patient needs. May also be requiredto obtain referrals as needed.
  • Assists MD's, PA's and NP's in obtaining and scheduling consultations with otherhospital services.
  • Will become proficient with all necessary computer applications required in jobperformance i.e. Cerner power chart, Eclipsys, Patient Keeper, Excel etc.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Performs administrative support duties for assigned MD's, PA's and NP's.
  • Answers telephone calls and distributes messages in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to HIPPA standards in keeping patient's confidentiality and personalinformation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with insurance authorizations for medical procedures.

Posting Overview

This position will remain posted until filled or for a maximum of 90 days. An initial review of all applicants will occur two weeks from the posting date. Prior to Start Date Requirements
  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination

Anticipated Pay Range

The salary range for this position is listed below. This range reflects Stony Brook University Hospital’s good faith and reasonable estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting.

The final offer will be determined based on the candidate’s verified years of relevant, comparable experience. Please note that misrepresentation or inflation of experience may result in disqualification from the hiring process or termination of employment if hired.
