Job summary

Riverside Medical Clinic is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to oversee clinical operations across assigned areas, ensuring adherence to department philosophies and regulatory guidelines. You will evaluate workflows, assign duties, and drive improvements to patient care processes.

The role requires RN licensure in California, at least two years of supervisory experience, and experience in medical group settings with insurance billing and coding.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years previous supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines including DHCS and AAAHC.

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Practice Administrator, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the active on-going coordination of Clinical Operations in assigned areas throughout the medical clinic. Interprets and supports philosophies and policies of the Patient/Clinical Department to all personnel. Continuously evaluate and improve the systems, procedures, and methods used in accomplishing departmental workflow. Assign duties and examine work for accuracy, timeliness, and conformance to department standard. Identify problem areas such as staffing, customer complaints, and inefficiencies. Take corrective action as appropriate. Ensures Clinic is kept in compliance with regulatory guidelines including, DHCS, AAAHC, etc.

HOURS

Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:30pm

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, college degree in related area preferred. Minimum of five medical group office experience including insurance billing and coding, HMO experience preferred. A minimum of two years previous supervisory experience required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

Registered Nurse with current California RN license. Current California Driver’s license and BLS/ ACLS and PALS certifications required.

Essential Functions

  • Support and cooperate with all other departments to ensure good communication for continuity of patient care.
  • Promote good public, medical groups, and inter-departmental personnel relations.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the systems, procedures, and methods used in accomplishing departmental workflow.
  • Assign duties and examine work for accuracy, timeliness, and conformance to department standard.
  • Identify problem areas such as staffing, customer complaints, and inefficiencies. Take corrective action as appropriate.
  • Prepare reports. Establish work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
  • Ensures Clinic is kept in compliance with regulatory guidelines including, DHCS, AAAHC, etc.
  • Ensures all expired sample medication and/or patient supplies are discarded upon expiration. This includes all Clinic areas include crash carts where applicable.
  • Responsible for all personnel related duties: counseling, interviewing, hiring, and termination as needed.
  • Monitor use of supplies and equipment to avoid waste. Order and approve supplies as needed.
  • Maintain employee attendance records. Verify employee attendance and submit time sheets to payroll.
  • Prepare annual employee performance evaluations.
  • Act as liaison between providers, staff, and customers.
  • Assume responsibility for initiating a pleasant, patient-oriented atmosphere by displaying a professional attitude through performance, appearance, and demeanor.
  • Orient and train new employees. Maintain and develop skill levels of current employees. Provide written and oral instruction.
  • Conducts staff meetings; employee safety training and other required training is completed according to appropriate timeframe and assures all employees receive proper training timely.
  • Site inspection, OSHA and other necessary logs are maintained according to policies and/or compliance standards and information is available for audits.
  • Attend meetings as requested (Physician Department, Management, Unemployment Hearings, etc.
  • Assume line staff responsibilities on an as needed basis.
