Job summary

Northside Hospital Forsyth's Progressive Care Unit (PCU) seeks a Clinical Supervisor to oversee nursing operations, ensuring patient-centered care and clinical excellence. This role includes 24-hour responsibility in absence of leadership and collaboration with the unit team.

Requirements include a nursing degree, Georgia RN license, and BLS certification with 3 years of clinical experience (1 year in the specialty). Preferred ACLS/PALS credentials.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Three years of clinical area experience with at least one year in the specialty.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing with two years in clinical area and one in specialty.
• Current Georgia RN license or Multistate license (NLC/eNLC) is required.
• BLS certification is required; color vision may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of the nursing operations of the PCU.
• In the absence of the Manager or Director, may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility.
• Work with unit-based leadership to ensure patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

Northside Hospital Forsyth's 36-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides specialized care for patients with complex medical conditions requiring continuous monitoring and advanced nursing assessment. Nurses in the PCU care for a diverse patient population, including individuals experiencing acute cardiac events, severe respiratory failure, sepsis, and other high-acuity conditions.

The unit fosters a collaborative and supportive culture where patient-centered care, open communication, and clinical excellence are highly valued. The Clinical Supervisor is a member of the unit-based leadership team. Provides supervision of the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit specific patient population.

REQUIRED:

1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
2. Three (3) years experience in clinical area with a minimum of one (1) year in area of specialty OR

Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing with two (2) years of experience in clinical area with a minimum of one (1) year in area of specialty.

1. Current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Compact (NLC/eNLC) or Multistate license
2. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
3. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.

PREFERRED:

1. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
