Position Overview

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for all clinical aspects of treatment for the patients they oversee, including assessment, treatment planning, supervision of technicians, and collaboration with caregivers and payers. Supervisors report to the Group Clinical Manager and work in a salaried, exempt, full‑time role.

Core Responsibilities
  • Use clinical judgment to promote optimal outcomes for each patient
  • Develop and maintain treatment plans
  • Ensure all supervision hours meet 100% treatment adherence each month
  • Evaluate patients to identify skill deficits and strengths
  • Analyze challenging behaviors to determine their functions
  • Develop functionally relevant treatment plans to reduce challenging behaviors
  • Observe treatment implementation and recommend program revisions
  • Monitor treatment integrity to ensure adequate implementation of protocols
  • Direct behavioral technicians in the implementation of new or revised protocols
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to behavioral technicians
  • Primarily work physically within the center to support technicians and model best practices
  • Summarize and analyze data to evaluate patient progress and adjust protocols based on data
  • Update treatment plans at least once per month based on patient response
  • Fulfill a minimum of 120 payor/client authorized billable hours per month, inclusive of supervisory and therapy hours
  • Accurately communicate treatment response to stakeholders (caregivers, payers)
  • Coordinate care with other professionals
  • Administer, complete, and score standardized assessments
  • Include caregivers as part of the treatment team through regular collaboration meetings
  • Interact with payers professionally and informatively
  • Engage with payers for funding meetings (e.g., IEP, peer reviews)
  • Stay current on best practices for ABA treatment to ensure clinical excellence
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in Skills and the patient’s medical record
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements
  • Partner consistently and effectively with other center leadership teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field (required)
  • Certification as a behavior analyst from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (required)
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (required)

Work Environment

Treatment may occur in various settings including the patient’s home, the CARD center, school, community, or via telehealth. Supervisors work in indoor and outdoor environments and may transition between locations throughout the workday, often encountering loud or excessive noise.

Physical Requirements
  • Work with patients who are seated on the floor, in small chairs, or other environments
  • Move frequently to gather materials, respond to patient movements, and provide instruction
  • Participate actively in patient behaviors, including bending, kneeling, crouching, and hurrying to block open doorways
  • Continuously monitor patient movements with visual tracking
  • Evade aggressive behaviors and physically block attempts when necessary
  • Assist patients who may lean or push, bearing weight briefly
  • Teach patients to use vocal speech and model clear articulation
  • Model gross‑motor skills (climbing, jumping) and fine‑motor skills (clapping, opening containers)
  • Operate in indoor and outdoor settings, including weather changes and community skills
  • Lift up to 30lbs while assisting patients
