Position Overview

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for all clinical aspects of treatment for the patients they oversee, including assessment, treatment planning, supervision, caregiver collaboration, and ongoing coaching of behavioral technicians. Clinical Supervisors report to the Group Clinical Manager and are salaried, exempt, full‑time positions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Use clinical judgment to promote optimal outcomes for each patient
  • Develop and maintain treatment plans
  • Ensure 100% treatment adherence for all supervision hours each month
  • Evaluate patients to identify skill deficits and strengths
  • Analyze challenging behaviors to determine their function
  • Develop functionally relevant treatment plans to reduce challenging behaviors
  • Observe treatment implementation and make program revisions as needed
  • Monitor treatment integrity to ensure satisfactory implementation of protocols
  • Direct behavior technicians in implementation of new or revised protocols
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to behavioral technicians
  • Support technicians physically within the center and follow best practices of direct observation
  • Summarize and analyze data to evaluate patient progress and adjust protocols based on data
  • Update treatment plans at least once per month based on patient response
  • Fulfill a minimum of 120 billable hours per month, inclusive of supervisory and therapy hours
  • Accurately communicate treatment response to stakeholders (caregivers, payers)
  • Coordinate care with other professionals
  • Administer, complete and score standardized assessments
  • Include caregivers as part of the treatment team through regular collaboration meetings
  • Collaborate professionally and comprehensively with payers for funding meetings (IEP, peer reviews)
  • Stay up to date on best practices for ABA treatment
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in Skills and the patient’s medical record
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families and colleagues
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, families and colleagues
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements at all times
  • Partner consistently with center leadership (Operations Manager, Clinical Supervisors, Administrative Coordinator, Technician Leads, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Psychology or Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field
  • Certification as a behavior analyst from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Must pass a tuberculosis test
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
Work Environment

Treatment may occur in a variety of settings including the patient’s home, the CARD center, the patient’s school, the community, or via telehealth. Clinical Supervisors work in both indoor and outdoor environments and may move between locations throughout the workday. Treatment environments may be subject to loud or excessive noise at times.

Physical Requirements
  • Work with patients seated on the floor, small chairs, or in home, school, community, and clinic environments
  • Move frequently to gather materials, anticipate and respond to patient movements, and provide instruction in multiple settings
  • Position oneself to participate and respond to patient movements, including bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to prevent dangerous behaviors
  • Continuously track patient movements and surrounding environment visually
  • Evade aggressive behaviors and physically block attempts to harm others when necessary
  • Articulate vocal speech and model speaking clearly for patients
  • Model gross motor skills (e.g., climbing, jumping) and fine motor skills (e.g., clapping, opening containers)
  • Work in indoor and outdoor settings as part of the patient’s natural environment, including varied weather conditions
  • Lift up to 30 lbs while assisting patients
