Department Overview

The pediatric emergency department at Children's Minnesota St. Paul hospital is a 32-bed, Level IV trauma center that specializes in the assessment and stabilization of acute pediatric illness, injury and trauma. Our multidisciplinary care team of more than 150 pediatric professionals cares for over 45,000 patients a year, and can treat just about anything. The St. Paul emergency department offers 24-hour access and has some of the shortest wait times in the country. The emergency department has all private rooms, two resuscitation rooms, and is staffed with board-certified, pediatric emergency medicine physicians, pediatric nurse practitioners, and certified pediatric emergency registered nurses. Our care team has access to cutting-edge technology, intensive and medical-surgical units, and specialists to provide the best care and outcomes for our patients possible, all in a child-focused, emergency environment. Position Summary

Undertakes an internship designed to provide on-the-job training and experience to High School Students, individuals recently completing relevant education or certifications and those recently completing 2- or 4-year degrees. Engages in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform within their chose career. Receives training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments. These positions are considered short term and temporary.

  • Enrollment in high school or equivalent OR enrolled in/graduated from applicable educational program/secondary education.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

  • In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits.
  • Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
