Job summary

The Dimock Center in Roxbury, MA is seeking a Social Worker / Mental Health Counselor for the Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS) program. This full-time role provides individual, group and family counseling, case coordination, and crisis intervention for patients in residential and outpatient treatment moving toward stabilization and recovery.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in social work or related field; licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or a closely related field.
• One year of experience in substance use disorder treatment preferred.
• Computer skills required (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic documentation).
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide brief supportive therapy and individual, family, and group counseling to support patient progress toward treatment goals.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups using evidence-based practices under supervision.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to treatment planning.
• Maintain a caseload and provide individual counseling as appropriate.
• Coordinate referrals and transitions with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide crisis prevention and risk assessments and escalate when needed.
• Document assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans per policy.
