Job summary

The Dimock Center is seeking a Social Worker / Mental Health Counselor to provide clinical services within the CSS treatment program onsite in Roxbury, MA. You will deliver individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and care coordination as part of a multidisciplinary team.

This full‑time role supports stabilization, recovery, and transition to ongoing care, with licensure hours and professional development opportunities as part of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or a closely related field required.
• One year of experience in a substance use disorder treatment setting preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic documentation.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide brief supportive therapy and individual, family, and group counseling to support patient progress toward treatment goals.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups under the guidance of the Clinical Director.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to treatment planning.
• Maintain an assigned caseload and provide individual counseling as clinically appropriate.
• Collaborate with case managers and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate referrals and transitions.
• Provide crisis prevention, intervention, and risk assessments as needed.
• Complete required documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.
