Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program; continuing education per state standards.
• Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the practicing state; BLS certification within 90 days if required.
• Documentation, billing, and compliance with department policies and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and conducts speech and language evaluations for various disorders.
• Establishes written plans of care and implements individualized treatment; monitors outcomes.
• Completes discharge planning with home programs, family teaching, and referrals.
• Maintains thorough documentation and records; ensures timely billing and scheduling.
• Maintains safety, infection control, and equipment handling; participates in performance improvement.
• Possible supervision of non-licensed personnel and involvement in student education.
