Job summary

Ascension Pharmacy Services, a leading nonprofit health system, seeks a licensed Pharmacist for a remote role with on-site support in Maryland as needed. The position involves reviewing medication orders, advising on formulary alternatives, and ensuring accurate dispensing and patient education.

Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians, supervising pharmacy technicians, and occasionally precepting pharmacy students.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure required and active in the designated state.
• Doctor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree preferred (PhD not required).
• No prior work experience required.

Schedule: Day shift | Full-Time | Monday to Friday

Supporting Location: MD

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Responsibilities:Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
• Recommends formulary alternatives when appropriate.
• Compounds and dispenses medications for accurate delivery to patients. Provides drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Communicates with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
• Oversees technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
• Assists with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students. May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs. Provides patient counseling when required.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required. Master's degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred.

Work Experience

• None required.
