Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a Social Work Supervisor (Social Worker IV) at Big Spring State Hospital. The role provides advanced clinical services, supervises staff, and participates in management teams to ensure quality care for Texans with psychiatric needs.

The position requires licensure as a Master or Clinical Social Worker, with at least three years in related fields and one year in supervision. Overtime and shift duties may apply, and telework is not offered.

Qualifications

• Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker required.
• Three (3) years’ experience with mental, social or substance use disorders.
• One (1) year supervisory social services experience (LCSW-S preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee social work program and annual policy updates.
• Supervise Social Workers and manage workload, personnel actions, and training.
• Review assessments, recovery and discharge plans to address client needs.
• Coordinate discharges with family, team, and community resources.
• Ensure compliance with standards and participate in CQI activities.
