Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Social Work Supervisor (Social Worker IV SW Supervisor) to oversee the social work program, supervise staff, and coordinate psychosocial assessments and discharge planning within a state hospital environment.

The role requires licensure as a Master Social Worker or Clinical Social Worker with leadership experience and a focus on recovery-oriented care for Texans.

Qualifications

• Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker required.
• Three (3) years’ experience including one year of direct work with people with mental, social or substance use disorders.
• One year of experience supervising social services work (LCSW‑S preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversees the social work program and ensures policies are updated regularly.
• Provides clinical and administrative supervision for Social Workers and oversees discharge planning.
• Reviews assessments, recovery plans, and coordination with treatment teams to meet patient needs.
