Job summary

Mercy Physician Services, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Medical Assistant/Clinical Scribe to support physicians by preparing patients, taking vitals, performing phlebotomy, and documenting visits in EPIC.

The role involves real-time charting and ensuring complete medical records during patient encounters. The CMA will be trained as a Clinical Scribe upon hire; one year of medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• CMA training or go-live support experience.
• One year medical office experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments, supplies and PPE for exams and testing.
• Document encounter in EPIC and ensure accurate medical records.
• Assist with injections, specimen collection and lab testing.
• Obtain vitals, review history and reason for visit with patient.
• Provide patient education using approved materials.
• Process medication requests and refills per protocols.
• Respond to patient test results and provide instructions as directed.
