Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a Master's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field is required.
• Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
• Related specialty certification or certification as a nursing professional development specialist (NPD-BC) required within two years of employment.
• Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
• Five (5) years of work experience in related clinical area of practice is required.
• Two (years) related clinical/leadership experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate education activities and competency validation within the assigned department/units.
• Provide leadership within the department including quality improvement activities and human resources support.
• Promote professional nursing practice and enculturation of the Nursing Professional Practice Model (NPPM).
• Ensure compliance with standards from professional nursing organizations, regulatory agencies and institutional policies.
