Clinical Research Technician/Assistant - TERM LIMITED

Job Summary

The main responsibilities include coordinating clinical research activities such as subject recruitment, regulatory submissions, data analysis, and database management for multi-site registries. Training in research ethics, human subject protections, clinical study design, and data analytics will be provided. Opportunities for co-authoring journal submissions and presenting at conferences are available. The role requires a responsible, motivated, and independent individual with an advanced degree in health-related fields, able to commit to at least 2 gap years.

This position may independently handle study coordination for simple and moderately complex studies and support a portfolio of projects. Mastery of all duties from the CRC-Assistant position on the Michigan Medicine CRC Career Ladder is required. The position is limited to 2 years, with possible extension depending on funding.

Responsibilities
  • Perform study procedures accurately.
  • Recruit, screen, and consent research subjects.
  • Support consenting, enrollment, and follow-up tasks.
  • Manage data collection and entry.
  • Triage subject concerns and troubleshoot issues.
  • Assess study execution and resolve implementation issues.
  • Assist with study meetings, audits, and visits.
  • Support financial reconciliation with CTSUs if needed.
  • Contribute to quality control efforts.
  • Develop recruitment plans and IRB materials.
  • Assist in preparing audit and regulatory reports.
Qualifications
CRC-TECHNICIAN
  • Associate degree in Health Science or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of clinical research experience or an advanced degree in a health-related field, or 3 years of relevant patient/community health experience.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Prioritization and deadline management skills.
CRC-ASSISTANT
  • High school diploma or GED.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Science or related field (preferred).
  • Understanding of medical terminology and experience in complex healthcare settings.
  • Ability to commit to at least 2 years.
Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm; on-site work required. Travel to satellite clinics may be needed.

Work Modes

Hybrid or remote options are at the department's discretion and subject to review.

Additional Information

This is a 2-year term position with possible extension. It does not guarantee employment beyond the term and is subject to university policies.
