The Ye Laboratory at the University of Michigan is seeking a research technician for a two-year term-limited appointment. This hands-on position involves working with Drosophila neurons to investigate genes related to neuronal development using advanced microscopy and genetic techniques. The Ye Laboratory at the Life Sciences Institute is looking for a research technician to join our neuroscience team. We are looking for someone to help identify genes involved in dendritic and postsynaptic development in Drosophila neurons, using a combination of morphological and genetic approaches. Responsibilities include maintaining Drosophila strains, setting up genetic crosses, dissecting embryos and larvae, and performing morphological analyses using confocal microscopy and 3D morphometric techniques. We ask that you have attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn new techniques. You will report directly to Dr. Ye and will work fully onsite.
