Job summary

Castle Biosciences Inc. is seeking a Clinical Research Scientist to work from our Scottsdale, AZ laboratory. The successful candidate will troubleshoot assays, review data, and help translate study concepts into practical protocols and data-collection plans.

Collaboration with R&D, QA, and regulatory teams is essential. The role requires strong technical proficiency, creative problem solving, and 4+ years in high-complexity laboratory settings with QA experience; oncology/digital pathology

Qualifications

Bachelor in Life Science/ Biology/ CLS with 4–7 years’ R&D experience, or Master 3–5 yrs, or PhD 1–2 yrs.
Demonstrated technical proficiency and collaboration.
Min 4 years lab experience in High Complexity testing plus QA training or 2 years clinical QA.
Experience with molecular techniques, digital imaging, multiplex immunolabeling, digital pathology, image analysis, or bioinformatics.

Responsibilities

As a primary technical resource for assay-related troubleshooting, data review and feasibility assessments.
Collaborate with R&D to translate ideas into practical protocols and data-collection plans.
Review results, investigate unexpected findings, optimize workflows, develop SOPs, and support instrument verification and assay validation.
Provide technical guidance to laboratory personnel and collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, regulatory).
Contribute to regulatory documentation and assay submissions when needed.
