Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a senior administrator to direct all administrative and research functions of clinical research units. You will oversee budgeting, regulatory compliance, and staff leadership to ensure efficient operations and high-quality research outcomes.

The role requires extensive management experience in research settings, plus advanced degrees in science, health-related fields, or business.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a science, social science, business, or health-related field.
• 6 years of related experience with management responsibilities, or 4 years with a Master’s, or 3 years with a PhD.
• Preferred: experience in UT Southwestern mentoring programs and related activities.

Responsibilities

• Review new research studies, negotiate budgets and contracts, initiate regulatory activities, and prepare IRB materials.
• Oversee ongoing studies, ensure quality, profitability, and contract renegotiations as needed.
• Direct financial oversight of the clinical research unit and monitor sponsor payments and expenditures.
• Lead staff selection, training, performance evaluation, and policy improvements to ensure quality results.
