Job summary
Northwestern Medicine seeks a Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator (RN) to serve as a liaison between NU investigators and Northwestern Medicine, ensuring proper implementation and conduct of clinical studies across the lifecycle.
The role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, adheres to ANA standards, and supports training and mentoring of clinical research staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment in Chicago.
Qualifications
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
- Experience in clinical trials.
- Two years related clinical experience.
- CPR-BLS Certification (AHA)
Responsibilities
- Leads coordination and support to Principal Investigators.
- Reviews studies for feasibility of protocol implementation.
- Guides and maintains protocols to meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Provides guidance to clinical research nurses on new study submissions and workflows.
- Develops and maintains nursing research policies and SOPs.
- Supports investigation and action on research-related events and deviations.
- Trains new staff and identifies training needs in clinical research.
- Escalates concerns to leadership as needed.
- Mentors teams in communication with investigator groups.
- Supports nursing staff during adverse events and emergencies.
- Provides cross-trained nursing support to inpatient/outpatient teams.
