UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a seasoned clinical research professional to lead budget development, sponsor negotiations, and coverage analysis for complex inpatient and drug/device studies.

This role partners with Sponsored Programs Administration, mentors study teams, and helps accelerate study start-up times while ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate financial oversight across the clinical research unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, social science, business, health-related field or nursing; Master’s or PhD also acceptable.
• Experience in budgeting, sponsor negotiations, and study start-up processes recommended.
• Experience with regulatory requirements and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Reviews proposed studies; negotiates budget and contract issues; initiates regulatory activities; oversees IRB materials and regulatory compliance.
• Oversees ongoing studies; negotiates favorable agreements; monitors profitability; renegotiates contracts as needed.
• Directs financial oversight of the clinical research unit; ensures accurate invoicing and sponsor payments; controls expenditures from multiple funding sources.
• Trains research, financial, laboratory, and administrative staff; evaluates performance; maintains quality and compliance.
• Identifies potential sponsors; develops and oversees marketing strategies; fosters collaborations with facilities.
