Job summary

The Neighborhood in Rio Rancho is seeking a compassionate Medical Records Coordinator to join our team in Rio Rancho, NM. You will manage resident records, ensure accuracy and confidentiality, and support compliant information exchange across departments.

Ideal candidates have an associates degree or related training and experience with EMR systems (PointClickCare/MatrixCare). Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, full-time.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or related training in medical records, healthcare, or related field.
• Knowledge of medical records laws and long-term care operations.
• Proficiency in English reading/writing with medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR systems PointClickCare or MatrixCare.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls and ensure resident and visitor needs are addressed promptly.
• Oversee completeness, confidentiality, and security of medical records.
• Review documentation for accuracy and timeliness from nursing staff and IDT.
• Support compliance initiatives and educate clinical staff on documentation standards.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Medical Records Coordinator to join our team at The Neighborhood in Rio Rancho, NM. What you’ll be doing

You will play a key role in supporting both residents and staff by managing incoming calls and ensuring resident and visitor needs are addressed promptly, professionally, and with exceptional customer service. In this role, you will help support person-centered, individualized care by facilitating the accurate and timely exchange of information between departments. You will oversee the completeness, maintenance, confidentiality, and security of medical records while ensuring compliance with company policies as well as State and Federal regulations. Additionally, you will review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness from nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team (IDT). You may also assist with implementing corrective actions, supporting compliance initiatives, and educating clinical staff on documentation standards and best practices.

Wages

$20.00 - $26.00 / hr DOE

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

About You

• Associates degree or comparable training/experience in medical records, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical records laws and regulations, as well as long-term care facility operations.
• Proficiency in English reading and writing with a working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong computer skills, particularly with electronic medical records systems (specifically PointClickCare and/or MatrixCare).
• Knowledge of diagnostic coding and healthcare documentation standards.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
