Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Clinical Effectiveness Specialist to partner with leaders and care teams to improve patient care delivery, reduce length of stay, and optimize throughput. This role leverages DMAIC and Lean Six Sigma, developing standardized processes across service lines with Epic Care Paths and Order Sets support.

The CE Specialist leads improvement initiatives from assessment through evaluation, conducts Gemba analyses, and creates dashboards.

Qualifications

Nine years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with five years in clinical or quality analysis.
In-depth knowledge of QI standards and regulatory requirements.
In-depth knowledge of QI models, tools, and data analysis and reporting.
Strong project management skills from inception to completion.
Excellent written and verbal communication with leadership and clinicians.
Experience with administrative software and quality data tools.

Responsibilities

Lead and support improvement initiatives from assessment to implementation and evaluation.
Conduct Gemba analyses and develop quality data reports and dashboards.
Collaborate with Population Health Analysts and Epic Team for Care Paths and Order Sets.
Monitor KPIs and ensure improvements are measurable and sustainable.
Partner with leaders and multidisciplinary teams to drive care delivery improvements.
