Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Practice Specialist who will lead quality clinical practice and staff development at the front line. The role involves creating education opportunities, supporting certification, and reviewing dashboards to drive improvements in patient care.

You will facilitate inter-professional teams, mentor staff, and participate in policy updates, safety rounds, and leadership councils to advance evidence-based nursing practice across the organization.

Qualifications

• Develops and implements education opportunities for staff identified through needs assessments.
• Supports staff to seek specialty certification and monitors progress.
• Reviews unit/division dashboards for quality and practice improvement needs.
• Leads inter-professional teams for unit-wide clinical process improvement.
• Plans and evaluates division safety learning activities and updates policies.
• Participates in Staff RN Peer Review.
• Mentors staff and drives evidence-based practice in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Develops education opportunities aligned with goals and new clinical programs.
• Mentors staff and monitors certification progress.
• Leads unit-based safety simulations and policy updates.
• Reviews quality data with managers to identify improvement actions.
• Collaborates with physicians and leaders to implement practice changes.
• Participates in LDOC, CNLC, and unit leadership meetings.
