Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Practice Specialist to support West Region and System Resource Teams, including nursing and nursing support roles. The role focuses on advancing clinical practice quality, safety, and staff development across front-line care areas.

The incumbent will lead education initiatives, mentor staff, monitor quality trends, and participate in inter-professional teams to implement evidence-based improvements.

Qualifications

• BSN required and active RN license in Illinois.
• MSN or progress toward MSN within four years of start date.
• 3–5 years’ clinical experience in a related area.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Ability to lead education and quality-improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements education opportunities for staff identified through needs assessments and program goals.
• Supports staff to seek and maintain specialty certification and monitors progress.
• Leads inter-professional teams for unit/division level clinical process improvement.
• Participates in unit based and system quality review and action planning.
• Plans and evaluates division learning activities to improve safety and clerical processes.
