GMH Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV is seeking a phlebotomist to collect blood and other specimens, label samples, and operate routine lab equipment. The role requires attention to patient comfort and accuracy, plus clerical tasks as needed.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma and at least 6 months phlebotomy experience; CPT certification is preferred. Shift variations may occur across facilities within WVU Health System.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Consistently draws blood competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible for patient groups from neonates to geriatrics.
• Properly labels all specimens in the presence of the patient.
• Operate basic laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, computer systems, labeling printers, scanners, phone system, etc.).
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, clients, and staff.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, report distribution, processing, and faxing.
• If applicable, collect drug screens (internal and external) using Chain of Custody Process.
