Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minnesota seeks a Retail Pharmacy Specialist to provide clinical pharmacy services, participate in formulary and pharmacotherapy decisions, and educate patients and staff as part of a collaborative care team. The role involves ensuring medication safety, participating in drug‑therapy reviews, and supporting daily pharmacy operations.

Qualified candidates will hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and Minnesota licensure or eligibility, with ASHP PGY1 residency preferred.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Minnesota
• One year pharmacist experience in complex pharmacy operation or completion of an ASHP‑accredited PGY1 residency program
• Three years experience in a specialty setting (preferred)
• BLS and Immunization certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, formulary and pharmacotherapy expertise to students, staff and care team.
• Partner with interdisciplinary care team to ensure medication order appropriateness, formulary compliance and safety initiatives.
• Deliver clinical pharmacy services to patients including reviews, monitoring and documentation of therapy changes.
• Distribute and prepare medications, sterile products, IVs and other orders as appropriate.
• Educate patients, staff and students on drug therapy and safety.
• Fulfill staff pharmacist duties and support operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
