Job summary

CCS Medical, Inc. in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a Pharmacist to perform general pharmacist duties, including dispensing medications, final checks, data entry review, patient therapy monitoring and drug utilization reviews.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Pharmacy and help ensure safe, effective drug therapy and patient education in a high-volume setting. This role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
• Current Pharmacy license in applicable state, and additional state licenses (CA, FL, VA) preferred. License must be maintained in good standing.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel

Responsibilities

• Prepares and oversees the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications to patients.
• Evaluates prescription orders for dosage, drug interactions, and appropriateness.
• Provide patient counseling, education, and monitoring.
• Maintain patient charts with allergies, medical history, and current medications.
• Assists in training and supervision of Pharmacy Technicians and staff.
• Participates in Performance Improvement Projects.
• Ensures compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and private insurance regulations.
