Job summary

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree.
• Active pharmacist licensure with NC Board of Pharmacy or able to obtain within 6 months.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Receives prescriptions, interprets prescriptions, and reviews the patient's medication profile/history; clarifies issues with prescriber.
• Utilizes patient data to provide optimal drug therapy recommendations and performs protocol-driven clinical services.
• Compounds and oversees preparation and dispensing of medications including sterile products.
• Complies with formulary and substitution programs to optimize therapy while minimizing cost.
• Completes required documentation in medical records and related records.
• Counsels patients and families regarding pharmaceutical care issues.
• Directs shift workflow and supervises pharmacy staff and volunteers.
• Adheres to federal, state, local and institutional policies and regulations.
• Identifies and participates in process improvement opportunities.
• Precepts students, residents and trains new staff.
