Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a pharmacist at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence to interpret, review, and dispense medications under supervision, ensuring safe and cost-effective therapy. Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Current unrestricted licensure as a licensed pharmacist or as a licensed 90-day temporary pharmacist in the State of Rhode Island, with full licensure prior to expiration of 90-day temporary license.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Receives patient medication orders and reviews for completeness and therapeutic appropriateness.
Provides drug information and consultation to prescribers, nurses, and other health care professionals.
Supervises pharmacy interns and technicians to ensure compliance with regulations.
Identifies and resolves drug therapy problems, interactions, and adverse events.
Participates in pharmacokinetic dosing, monitoring, and dose adjustments as required.
Participates in emergency code blue response and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
