Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a pharmacist to interpret and dispense medications under supervision, while ensuring safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness within established policies. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, supervise technicians, and participate in quality improvement and education activities.

The role requires a PharmD/BSPharm, Rhode Island licensure, and PGY-1 residency or equivalent experience; BLS/ACLS within 120 days of hire.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Current unrestricted licensure as a licensed pharmacist or 90-day temporary pharmacist in Rhode Island.
BLS and ACLS certifications within 120 days of hire to fulfill emergency code blue responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Receive and review medication orders for completeness and therapeutic appropriateness.
Collaborate with clinicians to optimize therapy and monitor adverse effects.
Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure compliance with regulations.
Provide drug information and consult with prescribers and nursing staff.
Engage in medication therapy management and transitions of care as appropriate.
Participate in education and training of pharmacy residents and students.
Contribute to continuous quality improvement and medication safety initiatives.
