Job summary

Lifespan's Rhode Island Hospital in Providence is seeking a pharmacist to interpret, review and dispense medications under supervision, ensuring safety and efficacy. You will collaborate with clinicians and supervise pharmacy technicians.

The role includes participation in rounds, pharmacokinetic dosing, drug information, and adherence to compliance programs. Evening shifts, weekends, and holidays with a 10-hour day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or PharmD with eligible Rhode Island licensure.
• Current unrestricted RI pharmacist license with required BLS/ACLS within 120 days.
• PGY-1 residency and/or Board Certification preferred; experience considered.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of pharmacy technology and automation.

Responsibilities

• Receives and reviews medication orders for completeness and appropriateness.
• Provides drug information and consults with prescribers and healthcare staff.
• Oversees pharmacy technicians and education of residents/students.
• Participates in pharmacy rounds and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring.
• Ensures compliance with codes, formulary, and quality programs.
