Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking aSenior Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to coordinate and oversee pharmacy clinical services within the scope of practice at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. You will work under supervision to optimize medication use, educate patients, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include documenting patient encounters in the EHR, developing drug policies, participating in quality improvement, and training staff.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree from an accredited college of pharmacy (PharmD or BS).
• Current unrestricted licensure as pharmacist in MA or RI, or 90-day RI license with full licensure before expiry.
• ACPE Immunization Certification and BLS within 6 months of start date.
• Two years of clinical experience and board eligibility requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee pharmacy clinical services within policy.
• Provide patient counseling and medication-related education.
• Identify drug interactions and optimize therapy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers in care plans.
• Document patient encounters and plans in the EHR.
• Support CQI activities and quality measures initiatives.
• Develop policies and budgets for pharmacy services.
