Job summary

PharMerica in Warwick, RI is hiring a full-time Pharmacist for a closed-door, non-retail pharmacy serving long-term care and senior living clients. You will review orders, provide clinical recommendations, maintain patient profiles, and ensure regulatory compliance.

We offer a $2,500 sign-on bonus, two weekdays 9:30am–6:00pm and evening shifts 1:30pm–10:00pm with every 3rd weekend, plus comprehensive benefits, 401(k), PTO, DailyPay, and more.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy; Pharm D preferred.
• One year experience in long term care desired.
• Current and valid pharmacist license in the state of practice.
• Knowledge of drug therapy guidelines and regulatory standards (CMS, DEA, FDA).
• Proficiency in EMR and pharmacy information systems.
• Strong clinical judgement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate physician orders for drug appropriateness and dosing.
• Provide clinical recommendations to physicians and staff.
• Maintain patient/resident profiles, including medications and history.
• Ensure labs are ordered and reviewed for high-risk meds.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support therapy.
• Document communications in medical records.
• Enforce safe medication handling and regulatory compliance.
• Report medication errors to Pharmacy Manager.
• Educate clinical staff on safe medication handling procedures.
• Perform other pharmacy tasks as assigned.
