Yale New Haven Health in Bridgeport, CT is seeking an entry-level clinical pharmacist position within Bridgeport Hospital. The role supports medication management, safety, and patient-centered care as part of the pharmacy team.

The successful candidate will have an accredited PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, and a CT license or eligibility. ASHP PGY1 residency is desirable, with strong communication skills and teamwork across care teams.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or PharmD degree.
  • Connecticut Pharmacist License, or eligible for licensure in Connecticut.
  • ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency desirable; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate CHAMP behaviors and support patient safety as a cornerstone.
  • Conduct timely, accurate medication order review considering patient characteristics, labs, and vital signs.
  • Demonstrate competency in pharmacy automation and technology as applicable to the work area.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines for safety and quality.
  • Provide education and training to pharmacy staff, students, residents, and health care team members.
  • Contribute to departmental cost-reduction and revenue generation.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or PharmD degree

Experience

Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience is desirable, but not required. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

LICENSURE

Current Connecticut Pharmacist License, or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Connecticut

Special Skills

This individual should demonstrate basic knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics, and understand pharmacy systems of drug distribution and formulary management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with others are required.
