Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for on-site or remote exams, performing pre-exam tests, and explaining each step of the process. You will bridge patients and Optometrists and support the early patient journey.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect medical history and ocular data in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor and explain pre-tests to patients.
• Support remote eye exams with pre-testing and documentation in EMR.
• Preauthorize insurance and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Maintain complete patient records and assist with contact lens orders.
