Qualifications

• One (1) year of related optical/healthcare experience.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.
• Ability to initiate interaction and coordinate with patients and team members.
• Detail oriented and well organized.
• Strong communication with patients and associates.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and gather medical history into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results.
• Explain preliminary testing to patients and document in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams including testing and video conferencing.
• Transition patient to retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Explain MVC plan benefits and preauthorize insurance per SOP.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books with no-shows/cancellations.
• Maintain patient records and clinic environment.
• Instruct patients on contact lens use and handle orders.
• Keep equipment and supplies clean and secure; train on responsibilities.
