Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant in New York (Latham) to ensure a great patient experience. You will prepare patients for examinations, perform pre-exam tests, and explain steps while acting as a liaison between patients and optometrists.

Responsibilities include assisting onsite and remote exams, documenting results in EMR, and coordinating with retail staff to finalize patient care and follow-up appointments. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and gather medical history and ocular data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and preliminary eye examinations; document results in EMR.
• For remote exams, guide patients through remote eye testing and document results.
• Transition patients to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Preauthorize insurance per SOPs and help schedule exams.
